Dills’ professional affiliations include the Percussive Arts Society and MENC. Greg has had the privilege to study or work with many great educators such as Mr. He soon hopes to be writing drill for marching bands and indoor percussion ensembles. He currently serves as a battery tech for Wake Forest Independent, an Independent winter ensemble based out of Winston Salem, North Carolina.Īlong with being a full-time graduate student at Appalachian State University, Greg is an arranger, adjudicator, clinician, and private teacher. In 2013, Greg served as a battery tech for Carolina Gold and Drum Bugle Corps (Drum Corps Associates-DCA). He participated in Drum Corps International as a member of the 2007 Division III DCI World Champions Memphis Sound Drum and Bugle Corps which also received the High Percussion award, Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps in 2008, and the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps in 20. In 2011, Greg was awarded the highest Instrumental Performer award.

During his time in the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band, the POTM won the prestigious Sudler Trophy. While at WCU, Greg participated in a many of the ensembles offered including the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band for 4 years. Prior to ASU, Greg attended Western Carolina University where he graduated with a degree in Music Education. While at ASU, Greg participated in a number of ensembles including the Appalachian Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Steely Pan Steel Band, Percussion Ensemble, Mid-East Ensemble and the New Paradigm Percussion Quartet. He was the graduate assistant for the percussion studio and the Marching Mountaineers Percussion Section. The schedule of performances for ASU Day of Percussion includes: 9-11 a.m.: Middle and High School Percussion Ensembles and Soloists Master Class 11 a.m.: ASU Percussion Studio Recital 1:15 p.m.: ASU Percussion Faculty Recital featuring Trent Shuey 2:15 p.m. Greg Dills is completed a master’s degree in Music Performance at Appalachian State University in Boone North Carolina.
